Job Description


Your team

Statkraft’s Water, Weather and Climate team consists of 24 hydrologists and meteorologists with various backgrounds all working together to provide consistent data for a wide range of uses within Statkraft. We provide operational forecasts used in production optimization, price forecasting, spot power sales and various trading activities. Our data is also used in long term strategic work within Statkraft and for investments in new power plants. This work is a close collaboration between colleagues around the world. The team is involved in a range of development activities within hydrology and meteorology, and we are now experiencing a growing demand for our services in the company.

Your role

  • Impact Statkraft’s core business by improving our data processing and resource modelling activities.
  • Develop and apply new tools for collection, quality control, evaluation, and analysis of hydrological data.
  • Contribute to Statkraft’s core business by providing hydrological forecasts and analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to solve complex problems.
  • Provide analytical expertise supporting power production and long-term strategic decisions.
  • Effectively communicate complex topics and results.

Qualifications


Your profile

  • Master’s degree or higher in hydrology or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work strategically and systematically and to deliver at a high standard and quality.
  • Team player who can build strong relations and communicate well across disciplines and organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, in English and preferably Norwegian.
  • Competence in scripting with particular focus on Python.
  • Competence and experience with modelling, statistical analyses and use of spatial data sets.
  • Experience from project and/or team management is a benefit.
