Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This is an Auckland based role with hybrid working - three days in the office (one being a Tuesday) and two days with the option of working remotely.

We spoke with our General Manager - Health, Safety & Wellbeing, who let us know the following about the role:

What does a day in the life of a Health & Safety Business Partner look like?

  • First point of contact for queries across the business
  • Upskilling H&S Representatives and People Leaders
  • Supporting root cause investigations and projects to uplift H&S maturity
  • Coaching H&S committees

What is the tīma culture and environment like?

We live and breathe our values at BNZ and take the wellbeing of our people seriously. We are a supportive Health, Safety & Wellbeing tīma who mahi (work) hard with a mission to uplift maturity but don't take themselves too seriously at the same time!

What do we want you to know before you apply?

You will need a strong understanding of NZ H&S Legislation and risk management in practice.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Uplifting maturity with key stakeholders, identify and implementing process improvements to make things as simple but effective and safe as practicable.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

We are looking for a self-starter who has strong problem-solving and time management skills.

You will be able to juggle many priorities and build strong relationships. You will be influential with the ability to lead and coach others that are part of the project tīma.
